Studio Kiwi Members
Welcome to the 'Mud Gang' Community

Being a member at Studio Kiwi is possible by booking a Membership Pass that gives you access to our studio space with all its tools and staff support during our sessions open for members. You can work on your own project more and more autonomously and have your own storage box on our shelves.

But ! As ceramics is a technical craft, we ask those who want to become members to first follow one our introduction courses :

👉Introduction to Hand-building Pottery Course👈

or

👉Introduction to Throwing Course👈

and/or

👉Introduction to Glazing class👈

This is important as we want to ensure that you start your clay aventure well accompanied, and we need to assure everyone has the necessary basics for the proper use of our workshop (knowhow and safety).

If you already have a story with ceramics and wish to join our community of members directly, please write to us an email describing to us your ceramic experience. In order to equally share our support to our members during their time in the workshop, it is important for us that everyone has the fundamental ceramic skills and knowledge.

How do the "Member Sessions" work ?

In the studio space :

* Each studio table or wheel has its own kit of the fundamental tools you will need for hand-building, throwing, trimming or glazing. Our shelves provide more tools and equipment

* 5 stoneware clays and porcelaine are purchasable by the kilo (recycled or straight from a Belgian quarry)

* There are 12 coloured slips (engobes) and more than 18 glazes to chose from

* Firings are paid according to volume of each piece prior to bisque firing

* We ask all members to follow our safety tips to ensure we can continue pottering until we are 99

Learning at your own rythm
Member session are not set up as a 'class' format, but a chance for you to learn and work more autonomously on your clay projects, using all the tools and equipment in our shared studio, inspired by other members around you, and with the technical support of friendly staff when needed.

Staff :

A qualified ceramicist is always present at the studio to welcome you, guide you in the studio space and with tools, support your projects technically when needed, and ensure general order of workshop. Our staff members are all bilingual, either English-French or English-Dutch, with the aim of welcoming as much as possible in the language you are most comfortable in.

Storage :

As we are a small studio, storage needs to be well managed. We provide personal storage space for members during their membership pass, but not for those who book a one-off member session. Personal storage boxes are to be emptied and cleaned at the end of your pass.

Membership Pass

For more interesting price value and for best ceramic practice of regular weekly attention, we recommend purchasing member sessions with one of our proposed  👉Membership Passes👈

Booking just 1 member Session :

There is also the option of booking just one member session for members who just need to glaze last work, or finish a project. It is not meant for coming in just once or sporadically as there are at least 3 different stages to the ceramic process, each needing attention and storage space.
