✨ LEARNING AT YOUR OWN PACE ✨ Studio Mate sessions are not structured classes. They are your time to work independently on your clay projects in a shared, creative space. Use all the tools and equipment in the studio, be inspired by fellow Studio Mates, and ask for technical support from your host if needed. ✨ IDEAL AFTER AN INTRODUCTION COURSE ✨ Ceramics is a technical craft. We strongly recommend completing one of our introduction courses (hand-building, throwing, or glazing) before. This ensures that you begin your practice well-prepared and informed. During Studio Mate sessions, your host is available for advice and safety guidance, but not for comprehensive beginner tutoring. ✨ IN THE STUDIO ✨ 👉 Each table is equipped with a kit of fundamental tools for hand-building. Additional tools and equipment are available on our shelves. 👉 A wide range of stoneware clays and porcelain is available for purchase by the kilo (recycled or directly from the quarry). 👉 We also offer colored slips, underglazes, and glazes to choose from. 👉 Firing fees are calculated based on the volume of each piece before bisque firing. 👉 All Studio Mates are expected to follow our Internal Rules to ensure we can continue pottering safely and respectfully. ✨ YOUR HOST ✨ A qualified ceramicist is always present in the studio to welcome you, guide you through the space and tools, support your projects as needed, and ensure the overall order of the workshop. Studio Kiwi operates in English and French. ✨ STORAGE ✨ Space is limited, so storage is kept efficient. Each Studio Mate is allocated a half-shelf and two boxes for personal storage during their Trimester. Please empty your shelf at the end of your Trimester. ✨ TRIMESTER ACCESS ✨ Studio Mate access is offered by Trimester only. This ensures a stable, committed group of makers and keeps the studio atmosphere focused and generous. Purchase your Trimester to secure your place and start booking sessions.

We understand that plans can change. However, places per session are limited, and late cancellations or no-shows deprive fellow Studio Mates of valuable studio access. To keep the system fair and respectful, the following policy applies: 🥝 1. Cancellations 🔸 More than 48 hours before a session: You may cancel or modify your booking through your online account without penalty. 🔸 Within 48 hours of a session: If you find another Studio Mate to take your spot, or if someone on the waitlist fills your place, email us at info@studio-kiwi.com before the session starts. No penalty will apply. 🔸 Within 48 hours, no replacement found: If you email info@studio-kiwi.com before the session to inform us that you cannot attend but no replacement is found, your booking rights will be suspended for 1 week. 🔸 No-show (no email received, no cancellation made, no replacement): If you miss a session without notifying us, your booking rights will be suspended for 2 weeks. During a suspension period, your Trimester access remains active and your half-shelf remains yours, but you will not be able to book any new Studio Mate sessions. 🥝 2. No Refunds for Non-Attendance Your Studio Mate fee is a Trimester Access fee, not a per-session rate. Whether you attend one session or all available sessions, the price remains the same. No partial refunds, credits, or prorated reimbursements will be issued for any unused sessions, early departure, or reduced attendance during your trimester. 🥝 3. Studio Kiwi Cancellations In the unlikely event that we need to cancel a session, we will notify you as soon as possible and propose a compensatory date when feasible. No suspension applies in this case. By booking a Studio Mate session, you acknowledge and agree to this cancellation and no-show policy.
